According to the current market situation, most PC manufacturers have abandoned the netbook market. But the Chinese manufacturers contiously produce a lot of cheap mini version netbooks, whose display size range is about 10 inches, and some products are even with smaller screens. In these products, some run the Windows operating system, but most low-price products are equipped with ARM chip and run Android or Windows CE operating system.
The Padhz study found that part of the Android system laptops use the Allwinner A20 and Allwinner A31 processors.
The A20 is a dual-core mobile application processor launched in March 2013, and it’s mainly for tablet PCs and smart TVs. The processor is based on ARM Cortex-A7 and Mali400 architecture. While the A31 uses the quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU architecture, and it’s equipped with PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU.
According to the news released by Padhz, these netbooks use two dimensions. The N101-A uses a resolution of 1024 x 600 10.1-inch display, and it’s equipped with Allwinner A20 chip processor, 1GB memory space and up to 32GB internal storage space. The device is equipped with HDMI multimedia interface and it supports WiFi and Ethernet, it runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system, and its battery life is about 7.5 hours.
Another two N70-A and N70-B are with the 13.3-inch display, but the N70-A is equipped with Allwinner A20 dual-core chip processor and 1GB memory space. The N70-B is equipped with the Allwinner A31 quad-core processor and 2GB memory space.
Due to various reasons, it seems that the the larger size of the product, the shorter of the battery life, some devices running time is only 5.5 hours.
Allwinner processor equipment today should be the Tablet PC and Android TV box. Allwinner Android netbook processor is not the first time I saw, but until now, most devices are equipped with Allwinner A10 ARM Cortex-A8 single-core chips.
